applied,thefrictionplateispulledtowardtheclutchplateandthetworotateas
one.Whentheclutchplateandthefrictionplaterotateasdifferentspeedsit
isknownasclutchslipping.
ElectricPTOClutchTesting
IfthePTOclutchisnotengagingorissuspectasacauseofelectricalproblems,
usethefollowingelectricaltroubleshootingsteps.Theseprocedureswillhelp
determineiftheclutchhasfailedasaresultoforisthecauseofanelectrical
problem.
ElectricPTOClutchCoilResistanceMeasurement
1.ParkthemachineonalevelsurfaceanddisengagethePTO.Stopthe
engine,waitforallmovingpartstostopandremovethekey.Engagethe
parkingbrake.
2.Disconnecttheclutchwireconnector.
3.Setthemulti-metertomeasureresistance(OHMssetting).
4.Connectthemeterleadwirestotheterminalsintheclutchconnector.

3.Setthemulti-metertomeasureresistance(OHMsetting).
4.Connectonemulti-meterleadtotheclutchhousing.Connecttheother
multi-meterleadtoeachoftheclutchconnectorterminals.
5.The2clutchconnectorterminalsshouldneverhavecontinuitytoground
andshouldOPENatalltimes.
6.IfcontinuityisfoundbetweenthePTOconnectorandground,thePTOclutch
andthePTOswitchmustbereplaced.
