Toensurepropercooling,makesurethegrassscreen,
coolingns,andotherexternalsurfacesoftheengine
arekeptcleanatalltimes.
1.Removetheblowerhousingandanyothercooling
shrouds.
2.Cleanthecoolingnsandexternalsurfacesas
necessary.
3.Makesurethecoolingshroudsarereinstalled
Important:Operatingtheenginewithablocked
grassscreen,dirtyorpluggedcoolingns,and/or
coolingshroudsremoved,willcauseenginedamage
duetooverheating.
FuelSystem
Maintenance
Incertainconditions,gasolineisextremely
ammableandhighlyexplosive.Areor
explosionfromgasolinecanburnyouand
othersandcandamageproperty.
Performanyfuelrelatedmaintenancewhen
theengineiscold.Dothisoutdoorsinan
openarea.Wipeupanygasolinethatspills.
Neversmokewhendraininggasoline,and
stayawayfromanopenameorwherea
sparkmayignitethegasolinefumes.
ReplacingtheFuelFilter
ServiceInterval:Every100hours/Yearly(whichever
comesrst)
Neverinstalladirtylterifitisremovedfromthefuel
line.
1.Parkthemachineonalevelsurfaceanddisengage
thebladecontrolswitch.
2.Movethemotioncontrolleversoutwardtothe
neutralposition,engageparkingbrake,stopthe
engine,removethekey,andwaitforallmovingparts
tostopbeforeleavingtheoperatingposition.
3.Thefuellterisinthefuellinebetweenthetank
andengine.
4.Turnfuelshutoffvalve90degreesto“offposition.
5.Squeezetheendsofthehoseclampstogetherand
slidethemawayfromthelter(Figure31).
6.Removethelterfromthefuellines.
7.Installanewlterwiththeowdirectionarrow
comingfromthefueltankandpointingtothe
engine.Movethehoseclampsclosetothelter
(Figure31)tosecureitinplace.
