ServiceInterval:Beforeeachuseordaily—Inspect
thegrassdeectorfordamage.
WARNING
Anuncovereddischargeopeningcould
allowthelawnmowertothrowobjectsinthe
operator'sorbystander'sdirectionandresult
inseriousinjury.Also,contactwiththeblade
couldoccur.
Neveroperatethemachinewithoutgrass
deector,dischargecoverorgrasscollection
systeminplace.
Inspectthegrassdeectorfordamagebeforeeach
use.Replaceanydamagedpartsbeforeuse.

damagedorworngrassdeector.
4.Replacethegrassdeector(Figure59).
5.Sliderod,straightend,throughthereargrass
deectorbracket.
6.Placethespringontherod,withendwires
down,andbetweenthegrassdeectorbrackets.
Sliderodthroughsecondgrassdeectorbracket
(Figure59).
7.Insertrodatfrontofgrassdeectorintoshort
stand-offondeck.Securerearendofrodinto
themowerwithanut(3/8inch)(Figure59).
Important:Thegrassdeectormustbe
springloadedinthedownposition.Liftthe
deectoruptotestthatitsnapstothefull
downposition.
