5secondsatatime.Engagingthestartermotorfor
morethan5secondscandamagethestartermotor.If
theenginefailstostart,wait10secondsbeforeoperating
theenginestarteragain.

Theparkingbrakeisactivatedelectronically.
Engagetheparkingbrakebyoneofthefollowingactions:
•PressingtheSmartPark
™
switchtotheONposition
(Figure5).
•Theparkingbrakeengagesautomaticallywhenthe
operatorleavestheseatandthetractioncontrolpedalis
intheneutralposition.
•Theparkingbrakeautomaticallyengages5to6seconds
aftertheignitionswitchisturnedtotheOFFposition(if
notalreadyengaged).
Disengagetheparkingbrakebyoneofthefollowingactions:
•Tapthetraction-controlpedalforwardorreverse.
•PressingthebrakeswitchtotheOFFposition(Figure5).
OperatingtheBlades
Theblade-controlswitch,representedbyapowertake-off
(PTO)symbol,engagesanddisengagespowertothemower
blades.Thisswitchcontrolspowertoanyattachmentsthat
drawpowerfromtheengine,includingthemowerdeckand
cuttingblades.
EngagingtheBlades
Important:Donotengagethebladeswhenparkedin
tallgrass.Beltorclutchdamagecanoccur.
Note:Alwaysengagethebladeswiththethrottleinthe
FASTposition.
