Cleaning
CleaningUndertheMower

Removethegrassbuildupunderthemowerdaily.
1.DisengagethePTO,movethemotion-controlleversto
theneutral-lockedpositionandsettheparkingbrake.
2.Stoptheengine,removethekey,andwaitforallmoving
partstostopbeforeleavingtheoperatingposition.
3.Raisethefrontofthemachineandusejackstandsto
supportthemower.
DisposingoftheWaste
Engineoil,batteries,hydraulicoil,andenginecoolantare
pollutantstotheenvironment.Disposeoftheseaccordingto
yourstateandlocalregulations.
Storage
CleaningandStorage
1.Disengagethepowertakeoff(PTO),settheparking
brake,turntheignitionkeytooff,andremovethekey.
2.Removegrassclippings,dirt,andgrimefromthe
externalpartsoftheentiremachine,especiallythe
engine.
Important:Youcanwashthemachinewithamild
detergentandwater.Donotpressurewashthe
machine.Avoidexcessiveuseofwater,especially
nearthedrivesystemandengine.Pressure
washingcanforcedirtandwaterintocriticalparts,
suchasspindlebearingsandelectricalswitches.
3.Cleandirtandchafffromtheoutsideoftheengine
cylinderheadnsandblowerhousing.
4.Checkthebrake;refertoServicingtheBrakein
Brake
Maintenance(page47).
5.Servicetheaircleaner;refertoServicingtheAir
CleanerinEngineMaintenance(page32).
6.Greasethemachine;refertoGreasingandLubrication
in
Lubrication(page30).
7.Changetheengineoil;refertoServicingtheEnginein

10.Removethesparkplug(s)andcheckitscondition;refer
toServicingtheSparkPluginEngineMaintenance
(page32).Withthesparkplug(s)removedfromthe
engine,pourtwotablespoonsofengineoilintothe
sparkplughole.Nowusethestartertocrankthe
engineanddistributetheoilinsidethecylinder.Install
thesparkplug(s).Donotinstallthewireonthespark
plug(s).
11.Checkandtightenallbolts,nuts,andscrews.Repairor
replaceanypartthatisdamagedordefective.
