Checkhydrauliclinesandhosesforleaks,loosettings,
kinkedlines,loosemountingsupports,wear,weather
andchemicaldeterioration.Makenecessaryrepairs
beforeoperating.
Note:Keepareasaroundhydraulicsystemcleanfrom
grassanddebrisbuildup.
Hydraulicuidescapingunderpressurecan
penetrateskinandcauseinjury.
•Ifhydraulicuidisinjectedintotheskin
itmustbesurgicallyremovedwithinafew
hoursbyadoctorfamiliarwiththistypeof
injury.Gangrenemayresultifthisisnot
done.
•Keepbodyandhandsawayfrompinhole
leaksornozzlesthatejecthighpressure
hydraulicuid.
•Usecardboardorpapertondhydraulic
leaks.
•Safelyrelieveallpressureinthehydraulic
systembeforeperforminganyworkonthe
hydraulicsystem.
•Makesureallhydraulicuidhosesand
linesareingoodconditionandallhydraulic
connectionsandttingsaretightbefore
applyingpressuretohydraulicsystem.

Maintenance
ServicingtheCuttingBlades
Toensureasuperiorqualityofcut,keeptheblades
sharp.Forconvenientsharpeningandreplacement,you
maywanttokeepextrabladesonhand.
Awornordamagedbladecanbreak,anda
pieceofthebladecouldbethrownintothe
operator’sorbystander’sarea,resultingin
seriouspersonalinjuryordeath.
•Inspectthebladesperiodicallyforwearor
damage.
•Replaceawornordamagedblade.
BeforeInspectingorServicingthe
Blades
Parkthemachineonalevelsurface,disengagetheblades
andsettheparkingbrake.Turntheignitionkeytooff.
Removethekeyanddisconnectthesparkplugwires
fromthesparkplugs.
InspectingtheBlades
ServiceInterval:Beforeeachuseordaily
1.Inspectthecuttingedges(Figure71).Iftheedges
arenotsharporhavenicks,removeandsharpenthe
blades.RefertoSharpeningtheBlades.
2.Inspecttheblades,especiallythecurvedarea.Ifyou
noticeanycracks,wear,oraslotforminginthisarea
immediatelyinstallanewblades(Figure71).
