ServiceInterval:Every100hours—Checkthemowerdeck
belt.
Squealingwhenthebeltisrotating,bladesslippingwhen
cuttinggrass,frayedbeltedges,burnmarksandcracksare
signsofaworndeckbelt.Replacethedeckbeltifanyof
theseconditionsareevident.
1.DisengagethePTOandsettheparkingbrake.
2.Stoptheengine,removethekey,andwaitforallmoving
partstostopbeforeleavingtheoperatingposition.
3.Unlatchandremovethebeltcovers.
4.Loosenthefrontidlerpulleybylooseningthenut.
5.Removethewornmowerbelt(
Figure68andFigure69).
6.Installthenewmowerbeltaroundthedeckpulleysand
clutchpulley(Figure68andFigure69).
7.Usingaratchetintheidlerarm,tightentheidlerpulley
untilthespringisstretched6-1/2inches(165mm)
fromhooktohook(Figure68andFigure69).
8.Tightenthefrontidlerpulleybytighteningthenut.
9.Installthebeltcoversontothecuttingunitandsecure
thelatches.
