CleaningtheEngineScreen
ServiceInterval:Beforeeachuseordaily
Beforeeachuseordaily
Beforeeachuseremoveanybuildupofgrass,dirt,or
otherdebrisfromtheenginescreen,engineexhaust,
andtheareaaroundtheengine.Thishelpsensure
adequatecoolingandcorrectenginespeedand
reducesthepossibilityofoverheatingandmechanical
damagetotheengine.

AdjustingtheParking
Brake
ServiceInterval:Every500hours
Note:Makesuretofollowthisprocedurewhena
brakecomponenthasbeenremovedorreplaced.
1.Drivethemachineontoalevelsurface.
2.Disengagetheblade-controlswitch(PTO),move
themotion-controlleverstotheNEUTRAL-LOCK
position,andsettheparkingbrake.
3.Shutofftheengine,removethekey,andwait
forallmovingpartstostopbeforeleavingthe
operatingposition.
4.Setupthemachinetobepushedbyhand.Refer
toUsingtheDrive-Wheel-ReleaseValves(page
31).
5.Raisethebackofthemachineupandsupport
themachinewithjackstands.
CAUTION
Raisingthemachineforservice
ormaintenancerelyingsolelyon
mechanicalorhydraulicjackscouldbe
dangerous.Themechanicalorhydraulic
jacksmaynotbeenoughsupportormay
malfunctionallowingthemachinetofall,
whichcouldcauseinjury.
Donotrelysolelyonmechanical
orhydraulicjacksforsupport.Use
adequatejackstandsorequivalent
support.
6.Engageanddisengagetheparkingbrakeand
checkeachdrivetiretoensurethateachbrake
engagesanddisengages.
7.Ifanadjustmentisnecessary,disengagethe
parkingbrake.Removethecotterpinfromthe
brakelinkageshaft(Figure81).
