MOWER DECKS/PTO
Replacing the Mower Deck Drive Belt
All Z 400 models
Squealing when the belt is rotating, blades slipping when
cutting grass, frayed belt edges, burn marks and cracks
are signs of a worn mower belt. Replace the mower belt
if any of these conditions are evident.
1. Disengage the PTO, move the motion control levers
to the neutral locked position, and set the parking
brake.
2. Lifttheoorpanandremovethemowerbeltcovers
(Fig. 491).

3. Loosen the two nuts located on the idler plate to
remove tension on the belt (Fig. 492).

2. Remove the spindle bearings and spacer (Fig. 490)

Reverse the order of mower spindle removal
