cablebeforeconnectingthenegative

1.Parkthemachineonalevelsurface,movethe
speed-controllevertotheNEUTRALposition,
disengagetheblade-controlswitch(PTO),and
engagetheparkingbrake.
2.Shutofftheengine,removethekey,andwait
forallmovingpartstostopbeforeleavingthe
operatingposition.
3.Disconnectthenegativebatterycable(black)
fromthenegative(-)batteryterminal(Figure43).
4.Slidetheredterminalbootoffthepositive(red)
batteryterminalandremovethepositive(+)
batterycable(Figure43).
5.RemovethewingnutssecuringtheJ-hooks
(Figure43).
6.Removetheclamp(Figure43).
7.Removethebattery.
