HYDRAULIC DRIVE SYSTEM
Drive Belt Tensioner Service
Removal
1. Remove the tensioner arm assembly.
2. Remove and discard the two outer grease seals
(Figure 67) (A).
3. Remove the two retaining rings (B).
NOTE: The bearings can be pressed out in either
direction.
4. Press the two bearings (C) out of the tensioner hub,
discard the bearings.
5. Remove and discard the two o-rings (D).
6. Clean and inspect the arm and hub (E). Replace the
assembly if excessive wear or damage is evident.

Installation
Grease Type: No. 2 general purpose lithium-based or
molybdenum- based grease.
1. Install the upper bearing retaining ring (B).
2. Install the upper o-ring (D).
3. Press one bearing into the arm hub (E) until it
bottoms on the retaining ring (B).
NOTE: Make sure to press equally on the bearings
inner and outer race to prevent bearing
damage.
4. Install second o-ring (D).
5. Press the bearing into the arm hub until it is fully
seated to the previously installed bearing.
NOTE: Make sure to press equally on the bearings
inner and outer race to prevent bearing
damage.
6. Install the lower retaining ring (B).
7. Install both outer grease seals (A) until fully seated.
IMPORTANT: Install both grease seals with the lip
spring facing OUTWARD.
8. Verify bearings rotate freely.
9. Add grease through grease fitting to fill the bearing
assembly.
10. Reinstall tensioner assembly as shown in this
chapter.
