HYDRAULIC DRIVE SYSTEM
Drive Belt Tensioner/Idler Service
Removal
1. Replace if wear or damage is evident.
NOTE: The drive system belt does not need to be
completely removed to service the idler
and tensioner. Simply remove the drive belt
tensioner spring, slip the belt off the idler,
tensioner and pump pulleys to service the
tensioner/idler.
2. Remove the bolt and nut that secure the fixed idler
and spacer (Figure 66) (A) to the frame. Remove
the idler assembly and spacer from the unit.
3. Remove the nut and bolt (B) that secure the belt
tensioner assembly (C) to the frame. Remove the
tensioner assembly from the unit.
4. Inspect bearings for excessive wear, noise or play,
replace if necessary as shown in this chapter.
Installation
1. Install the tensioner assembly (C) onto the frame
and torque the mounting fastener to 30 ft-lbs (40
Nm).
2. Install the spacer and fixed idler (A) onto the frame,
then torque the mounting fastener to 30 ft-lbs (40
Nm).
3. Install the drive belt as shown in this chapter.
4. Install the air cleaner assembly.
5. Connect the battery cables.
6. Verify proper operation of drive system
