Arrester

WARNING

Firemayresultinpersonalinjuryorproperty

Donotrefuelorruntheengineunlessaspark
arresterisinstalled.
1.Shutofftheengine,waitforallmovingpartsto
stop,andremovethekey.Engagetheparking
brake.
2.Waitforthemufertocool.
3.Ifthereareanybreaksinthescreenorwelds,
replacethearrester.
4.Ifthescreenisplugged,removethearrester
andshakethelooseparticlesoutofthearrester
andcleanthescreenwithawirebrush(soakit
insolventifnecessary).Installthearresteron
theexhaustoutlet.

WARNING
Fuelsystemcomponentsareunderhigh
pressure.Theuseofimpropercomponents
canresultinsystemfailure,fuelleakage,and
possibleexplosion.
Useonlyapprovedfuellinesandfuellters.
ServicingtheElectronic
Fuel-InjectionSystem
Thismachinecontainsanelectronicfuel-injection
system.Itcontrolsthefuelowunderdifferent
operatingconditions.
Theelectroniccontrolunit(ECU)continuously
monitorstheoperationoftheEFIsystem.
Ifaproblemorfaultwithinthesystemisdetected,the
malfunctionindicatorlight(MIL)illuminates.TheMIL
istheredlightlocatedintherightconsolepanel.
OncetheMILilluminates,makeinitialtroubleshooting
checks.RefertotheMILsectionunder
Troubleshooting(page62).
Ifthesechecksdonotcorrecttheproblem,further
diagnosisandservicingbyanAuthorizedService
Dealerisnecessary.
ReplacingtheFuelFilter
ServiceInterval:Every200hours/Yearly(whichever
comesrst)(moreoftenindirtyor
dustyconditions).
Thefuellterislocatedneartheengineonthefront
orrearsideoftheengine.
1.Movethespeed-controllevertotheNEUTRAL
positiontostopthemachine.
2.DisengagethePTO,engagetheparkingbrake,
shutofftheengine,andwaitforallmovingparts
tostop.
3.Waitforthemachinetocooldown.
4.Closethefuel-shutoffvalveundertheseat
(Figure13).
5.Squeezetheendsofthehoseclampstogether
andslidethemawayfromthelter(Figure39).
