BeltMaintenance
InspectingtheBelts
ServiceInterval:Every40hours
1.Stopthemachineandmovethespeed-controllever
totheNEUTRALposition.
2.DisengagethePTO,engagetheparkingbrake,shutoff
theengine,andwaitforallmovingpartstostop.
3.TiltthehopperupandcheckthepumpandPTOdrive
beltsforwear,cracking,orcontamination.
Note:Thebeltsarespringtensioned;noadjustmentis
necessaryunlessyoureplacethebelts.
ReplacingthePTOBelts
1.Stopthemachineandmovethespeed-controllever
totheNEUTRALposition.
2.DisengagethePTO,engagetheparkingbrake,shutoff
theengine,andwaitforallmovingpartstostop.
3.Withtheengineoff,engagethePTOlever,then
removethehairpinandclevispinatthebottomofthe
PTObrakeband.
4.Rotatethebrakebandupwardoutofthewayofthe
beltskeepingclearofthebeltdrive.
5.DisengagethePTOlever.
6.LoosenbeltguidesAandB(Figure51).
7.Removethebelts.
8.Routethenewbeltsontothepulleysasshownin
Figure51.

Belts(page44).
4.Pullthespringidlerorremovethespringtorelievethe
tensiononthepumpdrivebelt.
5.Removetheoldbelt.
6.Routethenewbeltontothesheavesasshowninthe
decallocatedonthebackoftheleftdriveshield(Figure
53).
