2.Stoptheengine,removethekey,andwaitforall
movingpartstostopbeforeleavingtheoperating
position.
3.Cleanaroundtheoildipstick(
Figure46)sodirt
cannotfallintothellerholeanddamagetheengine.
4.Pulltheoildipstickoutandwipethemetalendclean
(Figure46).
5.Slidetheoildipstickfullyintothetube.Pullthe
dipstickoutandlookatthemetalend(Figure46).If
theoillevelislow ,slowlypouronlyenoughoilinto
thellholetoraisetheleveltothefullmark.
Important:Donotoverllthecrankcasewith
oilbecausethismaycauseenginedamage.Do
notruntheenginewithoilbelowthelowmark
becausetheenginemaybedamagedasaresult.

2.Parkthemachineonalevelsurface.

4.Stoptheengine,removethekey,andwaitforall
movingpartstostopbeforeleavingtheoperating
position.
5.Placeapanbelowtheoildrain.Removethedrain
plugandlettheoildraincompletely(
Figure50).
6.Removetheoilllercapfromthetopoftheengine
(Figure48).Thiswillhelptheoiltodrain.
7.Installthedrainplugandtightenitto25-1/2ft-lb
(35N-m).
