Maintenance
WARNING
Fuel-systemcomponentsareunderhigh
pressure.Theuseofimpropercomponents
canresultinsystemfailure,fuelleakage,and
possibleexplosion.
Useonlyapprovedfuellinesandfuellters.
ServicingtheFuelFilter
andWaterSeperator
ServiceInterval:Every40hours—Drainthewater
separator.
Every400hours/Yearly(whichevercomes
rst)—Replacethefuellter(moreoftenindirty
ordustyconditions).
DrainingtheWaterSeparator
1.Parkthemachineonalevelsurface,disengage
theblade-controlswitch,andengagetheparking
brake.
2.Shutofftheengine,removethekey,andwait
forallmovingpartstostopbeforeleavingthe
operatingposition.
3.Locatethewaterseparatoratthebackleftof
themachine.
4.Placeadrainpanbelowthewaterseparator.
5.Openthedrainvalveonthewaterseparator
approximately1turntoallowwaterandother
contaminatestodrain(Figure58).
6.Closethedrainvalvewhenonlydieselfuel
comesout(Figure58).

Neverinstalladirtyfuellterifitisremovedfromthe
fuelline.
1.Allowthemachinetocooldown.
2.Parkthemachineonalevelsurface,disengage
theblade-controlswitch,andengagetheparking
brake.
3.Shutofftheengine,removethekey,andwait
forallmovingpartstostopbeforeleavingthe
operatingposition.
4.Closethefuelshut-offvalve(Figure59).
5.Loosenthe2hoseclampsanddisconnectthe
fuellinesfromthefuellter(Figure59).
6.Installanewlter.Connectthefuellinestothe
fuellterandinstallthe2hoseclamps(Figure
59).
7.Openthefuelshut-offvalve.
8.Starttheengineandcheckforleaks.
