InstallingtheBlades
1.Installthebladeontothespindleshaft(Figure88).
Important:Thecurvedpartoftheblademust
pointupwardtowardtheinsideofthemowerto
ensurepropercutting.
2.Installthecurvedwasherandbladebolt.Thecurved
washerconemustbeinstalledtowardthebolthead
(Figure88).
3.Torquethebladeboltto115to150N∙m(85to110
ft-lb).

ReplacingtheGrassDeector
WARNING
Anuncovereddischargeopeningcouldallowthe
lawnmowertothrowobjectsatyouorabystander,
resultinginseriousinjury.Also,contactwiththe
bladecouldoccur.
Neveroperatethemachineunlessyouinstalla
coverplate,amulchplate,oragrasschuteand
catcher.
Makesurethatthegrassdeectorisinthedown
position.
1.Removethelocknut,bolt,spring,andspacerholding
thedeectortothepivotbrackets(Figure89).Remove
thedamagedorworngrassdeector.
2.Placethespacerandspringontograssdeector.Place
theL-endofspringbehinddeckedge.
Note:MakesurethattheL-endofthespringis
installedbehindthedeckedgebeforeinstallingthebolt
asshowninFigure89.
3.Installtheboltandnut.PlacetheJ-hookendofthe
springaroundthegrassdeector(Figure89).
Important:Thegrassdeectormustbeableto
lowerdownintoposition.Liftthedeectorupto
testthatitlowersintothefulldownposition.
