8.Adjusttheliftnutsonboththeleftandtherightsideof
themachinetoachieve6to10mm(1/4to3/8inch)
lowerinfrontatAthanintherearatB(Figure81).
9.Tightenbothswiveljamnutsagainstthefrontswivel
tolocktheheight.
10.Checktomakesurethatthereisequaltensiononthe
chainsandadjustagainifneeded.

1.Raisethemowerliftlevertothetransportposition.
2.Checkthedistancebetweenthetwolargewashers,it
needstobe28.2cm(11-1/8inches)for52inchmower
decksand26.7cm(10-1/2inches)for60inchmower
decks(

3.Adjustthisdistance,bylooseningthespringjamnut
andturningthenutinfrontofeachspring(
Figure83).
Turningthenutclockwisewillshortenthespring;
counter-clockwisewilllengthenthespring.

ServicingtheCuttingBlades
Maintainsharpbladesthroughoutthecuttingseasonbecause
sharpbladescutcleanlywithouttearingorshreddingthegrass
blades.Tearingandshreddingturnsgrassbrownattheedges,
whichslowsgrowthandincreasesthechanceofdisease.
Checkthecutterbladesdailyforsharpness,andforany
wearordamage.Filedownanynicksandsharpenthe
bladesasnecessary.Ifabladeisdamagedorworn,replace
itimmediatelywithagenuineTororeplacementblade.For
convenientsharpeningandreplacement,youmaywantto
keepextrabladesonhand.
DANGER
Awornordamagedbladecanbreak,andapiece
ofthebladecouldbethrownintotheoperator's
orbystander'sarea,resultinginseriouspersonal
injuryordeath.
Inspectthebladeperiodicallyforwearor
damage.
Replaceawornordamagedblade.
