CleaningandStorage
1.Disengagethepowertakeoff(PTO),settheparking
brake,andturntheignitionkeytotheOffposition.
Removethekey.
2.Removegrassclippings,dirt,andgrimefromthe
externalpartsoftheentiremachine,especiallythe
engineandhydraulicsystem.Cleandirtandchafffrom
theoutsideoftheenginecylinderheadnsandblower
housing.
Important:Youcanwashthemachinewithmild
detergentandwater.Donotpressurewashthe
machine.Avoidexcessiveuseofwater,especially
nearthecontrolpanel,engine,hydraulicpumps,
andmotors.
3.Checkthebrake;refertoAdjustingtheParkingBrake
(page50).
Servicetheaircleaner;refertoEngineMaintenance
(page37).
4.Greasethemachine;refertoLubrication(page35).
5.Changethecrankcaseoil;refertoServicingtheEngine
Oil(page38).
Checkthetirepressure;refertoDriveSystem
Maintenance(page45).
6.Changethehydrauliclter;refertoHydraulicSystem
Maintenance(page55).
7.Chargethebattery;refertoElectricalSystem
Maintenance(page43).
8.Scrapeanyheavybuildupofgrassanddirtfromthe
undersideofthemower,thenwashthemowerwith
agardenhose.
Note:RunthemachinewiththePTOengagedand
theengineathighidlefor2to5minutesafterwashing.
9.Checktheconditionoftheblades;refertoServicing
theCuttingBlades(page60).
Preparethemachineforstoragewhennon-useoccurs
over30days.Preparethemachineforstorageas
follows:
A.Addapetroleumbasedstabilizer/conditionerto
fuelinthetank.Followmixinginstructionsfrom
thestabilizermanufacturer.Donotuseanalcohol
basedstabilizer(ethanolormethanol).
Note:Afuelstabilizer/conditionerismost
effectivewhenmixedwithfreshfuelandusedat
alltimes.
B.Runtheenginetodistributeconditionedfuel
throughthefuelsystem(5minutes).
C.Stoptheengine,allowittocool,anddrainthefuel
tank;refertoFuelSystemMaintenance(page41).
D.Restarttheengineandrunituntilitstops.
E.Disposeoffuelproperly.Recycleasperlocal
codes.
Important:Donotstore
stabilizer/conditionedfuelover90days.
10.Checkandtightenallbolts,nuts,andscrews.Repairor
replaceanypartthatisdamaged.
11.Paintallscratchedorbaremetalsurfaces.Paintis
availablefromyourAuthorizedServiceDealer.
12.Storethemachineinaclean,drygarageorstoragearea.
Removethekeyfromtheignitionswitchandkeepit
outofreachofchildrenorotherunauthorizedusers.
Coverthemachinetoprotectitandkeepitclean.
