1.Positionthebatteryinthetraywiththeterminalposts
oppositefromthehydraulictank(Figure57).
2.First,installthepositive(red)batterycabletopositive
(+)batteryterminal.
3.Theninstallthenegativebatterycableandgroundwire
tothenegative(-)batteryterminal.
4.Securethecableswith2bolts(1/4x3/4inch),
2washers(1/4inch),and2locknuts(1/4inch)(Figure
56).
5.Slidetheredterminalbootontothepositive(red)
batterypost.
6.SecurebatterywithJ-bolts,holddownclamp,2washers
(1/4inch),and2wingnuts(1/4inch)(Figure57).
ChargingtheBattery
WARNING
Chargingthebatteryproducesgassesthatcan
explode.
Neversmokenearthebatteryandkeepsparksand
amesawayfrombattery.
Important:Alwayskeepthebatteryfullycharged
(1.265specicgravity).Thisisespeciallyimportantto
preventbatterydamagewhenthetemperatureisbelow
32°F(0°C).
1.Makesurethatthellercapsareinstalledinthebattery.
Chargethebatteryfor10to15minutesat25to30
ampsor30minutesat10amps.
2.Whenthebatteryisfullycharged,unplugthecharger
fromtheelectricaloutlet,thendisconnectthecharger
leadsfromthebatteryposts(Figure58).
3.Installthebatteryinthemachineandconnectthe
batterycables,refertoInstallingtheBattery(page44).
Note:Donotrunthemachinewiththebattery
disconnected,electricaldamagemayoccur.
