damagedandyoushouldreplacebothlters.
InstallingtheFilters
Important:Topreventenginedamage,always
operatetheenginewithbothairltersandcover
installed.
1.Ifinstallingnewlters,checkeachlterforshipping
damage.Donotuseadamagedlter.(Figure26).
2.Ifthesafetylterisbeingreplaced,carefullyslideit
intothelterbody(Figure26).
3.Carefullyslidetheprimarylteroverthesafetylter
(Figure26).Ensurethatitisfullyseatedbypushing
ontheouterrimofthelterwhileinstallingit.
Note:Donotpressonthesoftinsideareaofthe
lter.
4.Installtheaircleanercoverwiththesideindicatedas
UPfacingupandsecurethelatches(Figure26).
ServicingtheEngineOil
OilType:Detergentoil(APIserviceSF,SG,SHorSJ)
CrankcaseCapacity:withalterchange,57ounces
(1.7l);withoutalterchange,47ounces(1.4l)
Viscosity:Seethetablebelow.

1.DisengagethePTO,movethemotioncontrollevers
totheneutrallockedpositionandsettheparking
brake.
2.Stoptheengine,removethekey,andwaitforall
movingpartstostopbeforeleavingtheoperating
position.
3.Cleanaroundtheoildipstick(Figure28)sodirt
cannotfallintoengine.

1.Starttheengineandletitrunveminutes.This
warmstheoilsoitdrainsbetter.
2.Parkthemachinesothatthedrainsideisslightly
lowerthantheoppositesidetoassuretheoildrains
completely.
