Iftheoilbecomescontaminated,contactyourT oro
Distributorbecausethesystemmustbeushed.
Contaminatedoillooksmilkyorblackwhencompared
tocleanoil.
1.Parkthemachineonalevelsurfaceandengage
theparkingbrake.
2.Lowerthemowerdecktothe25mm(1inch)
heightofcut.
3.Disengagetheblade-controlswitch,shutoffthe
engine,removethekey,andwaitforallmoving
partstostopbeforeleavingtheoperating
position.
4.Liftthefootresttoexposethetopofthemower
deck.
5.Removethedipstick/llplugfromthetopofthe
gearboxandensurethatthelubricantisbetween
themarksonthedipstick(Figure54).
6.Extracttheoilthroughthellportusinga
vacuumdeviceorremovethegearboxfromthe
deckandpourouttheoilintoadrainpan.
7.Installthegearbox(ifitwasremovedtodrain).
8.Addapproximately420ml(14oz),untilthe
levelisbetweenthemarksonthedipstick
Important:Donotoverllthegearbox;
overllingthegearboxmaydamageit.

Swallowingenginecoolantcancause
poisoning;keepoutofreachfromchildrenand
pets.
Dischargeofhot,pressurizedcoolantortouching
ahotradiatorandsurroundingpartscancause
severeburns.
Alwaysallowtheenginetocoolatleast15
minutesbeforeremovingtheradiatorcap.
Usearagwhenopeningtheradiatorcap,and
openthecapslowlytoallowsteamtoescape.

2.Checkthelevelofthecoolantintheexpansion
tank(Figure55).
Note:Thecoolantlevelshouldbebetweenthe
marksonthesideofthetank.
