MaintenanceSafety
•Beforerepairingthemachinedothefollowing:
–Disengagethedrives.
–Engagetheparkingbrake.
–Shutofftheengineandremovethekey.
•Parkthemachineonalevelsurface.
•Cleangrassanddebrisfromthecuttingunit,
drives,mufers,andenginetohelppreventres.
•Cleanupoilorfuelspills.
•Donotallowuntrainedpersonneltoservicethe
machine.
•Usejackstandstosupportthemachineand/or
componentswhenrequired.
•Carefullyreleasepressurefromcomponentswith
storedenergy.
•Disconnectthebatterybeforemakinganyrepairs.
Disconnectthenegativeterminalrstandthe
positiveterminallast.Connectthepositive
terminalrstandnegativelast.
•Usecarewhencheckingtheblades.Wrapthe
blade(s)orwearthicklypaddedgloves,anduse
cautionwhenservicingthem.Onlyreplaceblades;
donotstraightenorweldthem.
•Keepyourhandsandfeetawayfrommoving
parts.Ifpossible,donotmakeadjustmentswith
theenginerunning.
•Keepallpartsingoodworkingcondition
andallhardwaretightened,especiallythe
blade-attachmentbolts.Replaceallwornor
damageddecals.
•Neverinterferewiththeintendedfunctionofa
safetydeviceorreducetheprotectionprovided
byasafetydevice.Checktheirproperoperation
regularly.
•Toensureoptimumperformanceandcontinued
safetycerticationofthemachine,useonly
genuineTororeplacementpartsandaccessories.
Replacementpartsandaccessoriesmadeby
othermanufacturerscouldbedangerous,and
suchusecouldvoidtheproductwarranty.
•Checktheparkingbrakeoperationfrequently.
Adjustandserviceasrequired.

•Cleantheengine-coolingsystem(moreoftenindirtyanddustyconditions).
•Inspectthebeltsforcracksandwear.
Every100hours
•Checkthealternator-belttension.
Every200hours
•ChangetheengineoilandlterifnotusingT oroPremiumEngineOil,butanyoil
meetingAPIclassicationCJ-4orhigherorasstatedinEngine-OilSpecications.
