3.InstalltheupperROPSassemblyontothemachine.
4.WhilesupportingtheupperROPSassembly,installtheRHshoulderbolt
securingtheupperROPSassemblytothelowerROPSassembly.
Note:MayneedassistancetosupporttheupperROPSassembly.
5.InstalltheLHshoulderboltsecuringtheupperROPSassemblytothelower
ROPSassembly.
6.RaisetheupperROPSassembly,securewiththeROPSfoldpinsandhair
pins.
7.Installthefueltank.FuelTankReplacement(page5–24)
8.Connectthebatterybyinstallingthepositivecablerst,thenthenegative
cabletothebattery.
CasterForkandBearingReplacement
CasterForkandBearingRemoval
1.ParkthemachineonalevelsurfaceanddisengagethePTO.Stopthe
engine,waitforallmovingpartstostopandremovethekey.Engagethe
parkingbrake.
2.Disconnectthebatterybyremovingthenegativecablerst,thenthepositive
cablefromthebattery.
3.Raiseandsupportthemachinesothatthefrontwheelsareofftheground.
4.Removethecastercap.
5.Supporttheundersideofthecasterwheelandremovethefastenerscrew
securingthecasterbearingassembly.
6.Removethecasterforkfromthefrontaxle.Inspectthecasterforkshaft
forwearordamage.
7.Removetheupperandlowerbearingsfromtheaxleandinspecttheinsideof
theaxlebearingareafordamageandexcessivewear.
CasterForkandBearingInstallation
1.Cleanthesurfaceinsidetheaxlebearingarea.
2.Installanewlowerbearingfromthebottomsideintotheaxle,makingsureit
isfullyseated.Pressevenlyontheinnerandouterracetoseatthebearing.
3.Installspringwasheronthetopsideoftheaxle,followedbyanewupper
bearing,ensuringthatthebearingisproperlyseated(theupperbearing
shouldbeoatinginthehousinganddoesnotneedtobepressedinplace).
Note:Thebearingsaresealedanddonotrequiregrease/lubrication.
4.Installtheatwasherontopofthebearing.
5.Installthefastenerscrewandtightentothecastershaft.Thespringwashers
willprovidetheappropriatepreloadtothebearings.
6.Lowertheunitandverifyproperfunction.
Note:Thecasterwheelisnotserviceableandshouldbereplacedasa
completeassembly.
7.Connectthebatterybyinstallingthepositivecablerst,thenthenegative
cabletothebattery.
