3.StationaryRegeneration
Overtime,sootaccumulatesintheDPFanda
passiveorautoregenerationisnotsufcient
tounclogthelter.Duringthestationary
regeneration,theengineECUcontrolsengine
speed,load,andair/fuelmixturetoperforma
controlledburnoftheparticulatecollectedinthe
DPF.
Ifastationaryregenerationisrequired,it
mayindicatethattheenginehasbeenidling
excessivelyornotrununderasufcientload.If
multiplesuccessiveregenerationsarerequired,
itmayindicatethattheDPFwillrequireservice
soon,thatanengineproblemexists(e.g.,
incorrectenginefueloroil)orthataDPF
pressuresensorisfailing.
Important:Astationaryregenerationcan
beinitiatedbytheengineECUorbyyou,
theuser.YoucanmonitortheDPFsoot
percentageontheEngine-OffScreenorin
theMaintenanceandServiceMenu.Ifthe
DPFSootpercentageishigh,youmayelect
toinitiateamanualstationaryregeneration
ontheDPFSootPercentagescreeninthe
