EngineSafety
•Keepyourhands,feet,face,clothing,andother
bodypartsawayfromthemuferandotherhot
surfaces.Allowenginecomponentstocoolbefore
performingmaintenance.
•Donotchangetheenginegovernorspeedor
overspeedtheengine.
ServicingtheAirCleaner
ServiceInterval:Every150hours—Inspectthe
primarylter(moreoftenindirtyor
dustyconditions).
Every300hours/Yearly(whichevercomes
rst)—Replacetheprimaryairlter(moreoften
indirtyordustyconditions).
Every300hours—Checktheinnerairlter
(moreoftenindirtyordustyconditions).
Every600hours—Replacetheinnerairlter.
RemovingtheFilters
1.Parkthemachineonalevelsurface,disengage
theblade-controlswitch(PTO),andengagethe
parkingbrake.
2.Shutofftheengine,removethekey,andwait
forallmovingpartstostopbeforeleavingthe
operatingposition.
3.Releasethelatchesontheaircleanerand
pulltheair-inletcoverofftheair-cleanerbody
(Figure54).
4.Cleantheair-inletscreenandcover.
5.Installtheair-inletcoverandsecureitwiththe
latches(Figure54).
