ServiceInterval:Every25hours
Every200hours
1.Parkthemachineonalevelsurface,disengage
theblade-controlswitch(PTO),andengagethe
parkingbrake.
2.Shutofftheengine,removethekey,andwait
forallmovingpartstostopbeforeleavingthe
operatingposition.
3.Measurethelengthofthespring(Figure81).
Note:Themeasurementshouldbe64mm
(2-1/2inches)betweenthewashers.
4.Ifadjustmentisnecessary,disengagethe
parkingbrake,loosenthejamnutbelowthe
springandadjustthenutdirectlybelowthe
spring(Figure81).
5.Turnthenutuntilthecorrectmeasurementis
obtained.
Note:Turnthenutclockwisetoshortenspring
lengthandturncounter-clockwisetolengthen
thespring.
6.Tightenthe2nutstogether.
7.Engagetheparkingbrakeandcheckthe
measurementofthespringagain.
8.Ifanadjustmentisnecessary,repeatthe
proceduresabove.
9.Repeatontheoppositesideofmachine.

Replacethebeltifitisworn.Thesignsofawornbelt
includesquealingwhilethebeltisrotating;theblades
slippingwhilecuttinggrass;andfrayededges,burn
marks,andcracksonthebelt.
ReplacingtheMowerBelt

1.Parkthemachineonalevelsurface,disengage
theblade-controlswitch,andengagetheparking
brake.
2.Shutofftheengine,removethekey,andwait
forallmovingpartstostopbeforeleavingthe
operatingposition.
3.Loosenthebottomboltholdingthemower-deck
curtaintothemowerdeck;refertoReleasing
theMower-DeckCurtain(page41).
4.Removethesheet-metalguard;referto
RemovingtheSheet-MetalGuard(page41).
5.Removethebeltcovers(Figure82).
