1.Ifthesidecoverisinstalledtothemachine,
removeit;refertoServicingtheGuideBar,
Chain,andDriveSprocket(page19).
2.Placethechainaroundthesprocketonthefront
endoftheguidebar,withthecuttingedgeof
thechainteethonthetopofthebarfacing
forwardasshowninthediagrambeneaththe
sidecoverofthepolesaw.
3.Feedthechainaroundtheguidebarandalign
thechainintothegrooveoftheguidebar.
Note:Ifyouareinstallinganewchain,ipthe
guidebartoavoidunevenwear.
4.Positiontheopenloopofthechain(notonthe
guidebar)aroundthedrivesprocketonthepole
sawandinstalltheguidebarandattachedchain
ontothepolesaw.
Important:Ensurethatthechainadjusting
studisinsertedintothechainadjustingstud
slotontheguidebar(Figure19).Youmay
needtorotatethechain-tensioningscrewto
tthestudintotheholeintheguidebar.
5.Installthesidecover,butdonotfullytightenthe
sidecoverknob.
6.Adjustthechaintension;refertoAdjustingthe
ChainT ension(page18).
