Ensurethatthechainisproperlytensioned.
Aloosechainshortensthelifeofthedrivesprocket
andtheguidebarandmaycausethechaintofalloff.
Anovertightenedchainoverheatstheguidebarand
chain,causingrapidwear,andmayburnoutthemotor
orbreakthechain.
Thechaintensioniscorrectwhenyouareabletouse
aglovedhandtopullthechainsmoothlyaroundthe
guidebar.Thechainshouldremainincontactwith
thebottomedgeoftheguidebar.
Also,checkthechaintensionofanewchainaftera
fewcuts;anewchainusuallystretchesandrequires
adjustmentafterafewcuts.

maycontractasitcools,resultinginan
overtightenedchain.
3.Inspecttheguidebarforbendsordamage,
replaceifnecessary.
4.Turnthebarcoverknobcounterclockwiseto
loosenthebarcover,butdonotremoveit
(Figure17).
