thesidecovertothepolesawbyturningthe
barcoverknobclockwisebeforecheckingthe
tension(Figure17).
Totightenthechain,turnthechain
tensioningscrewclockwise.
Toloosenthechain,turnthechain
tensioningscrewcounterclockwise.

Adjustthechaintensionuntilthechaintouches
thebottomedgeoftheguidebar,thenpullthe
chainawayfromthebottomedgeoftheguide
bar;aproperlyadjustedchaincanonlybepulled
3.2to6.4mm(1/8to1/4inch)awayfromthe
guidebar,andsnapsbackonrelease.
Note:Whileadjustingthechaintension,liftup
thetipoftheguidebarwithaglovedhandto
ensuretheguidebardoesnotsagandaffect
chaintension.
6.Useaglovedhandtopullthechainaroundthe
guidebar.Aproperlytensionedchainshould
movesmoothlyandremainincontactwiththe
bottomedgeoftheguidebar.
7.Ifthechainisnotproperlytensioned,repeat
steps4through7.

Removethebatterypackbeforeadjusting
ormaintainingthepolesaw.

thebatterypack;refertoRemovingtheBattery
Pack(page15).
2.Removethesidecover;turnthebarcoverknob
counterclockwiseuntiltheknobisremovedand
thenremovethesidecover(Figure19).
