A.Checkthecoilresistancebetweentheterminals85and86witha
multimeter(ohmssetting).Theresistancemustbeapproximately70
to90ohms.
B.Connectthemultimeterleadstotherelayterminals30and87.Then
groundterminal85andapply+12VDCtoterminal86.Therelayshould
makeandbreakthecontinuitybetweenterminals30and87as+12VDC
isappliedandremovedfromterminal86.
C.Connectthemultimeterleadstotherelayterminals30and87A.Then
groundterminal85andapply+12VDCtoterminal86.Therelayshould
makeandbreakthecontinuitybetweenterminals30and87Aas+12
VDCisappliedandremovedfromterminal86.
5.Aftertesting,disconnectthevoltageandmultimetertestleadsfromthe
relayterminals.
6.Replacetherelayifnecessary.
7.Iftherelaytestscorrectlyandacircuitproblemstillexists,checkthewire
harness;refertoAppendixA(pageA–1).
8.Installthespeedcontrolandconnectthewireharnessaftertesting.
9.Connectthebatterynegative(-)cableatthebattery.
