Parkthemachineonarm,levelsurface;shutoff
theengine,removethekey,waitforallmoving
partstostop,andallowthemachinetocool
beforeadjusting,repairing,cleaning,orstoring
themachine.
Onlydisconnectthemachinefromthetractionunit
whileonalevelsurface.
Whendisconnectingthemachine,alwayschock
thewheelstopreventmovement.
Donotstorethemachineorfuelcontainerwhere
thereisanopename,spark,orpilotlight,such
asonawaterheaterorotherappliance.
Keepallpartsofthemachineingoodworking
conditionandallhardwaretightened.
Replaceallworn,damaged,ormissingdecals.
TowingSafety
Beforetowingthemachine,checkwithyour
localcountyorstatesafetytowingregulations,in
additiontomeetingDepartmentofTransportation
(DOT)SafetyTowingRegulations.
Alwaysshutofftheengineandpointtheblower
nozzleupbeforetransporting.
Towonlywithamachinethathasahitchdesigned
fortowing.Donotattachtowedequipmentexcept
atthehitchpoint.
Alwaysinspectthehitchandcouplingforwear.
Donottowthemachinewithdamagedormissing
hitches,couplings,orchains.
Checkthetireairpressureonthemachine.The
tiresshouldbeinatedto241kpa(35psi)cold.
Also,checkthetire-treadwearonthemachine.
Alwaysproperlyattachthemachinesafetychains
tothetowingvehicle.
Donottowthemachinefasterthan88km/h(55
mph).Recommendedoff-roadtowingisnotto
exceed24km/h(15mph).
Avoidsuddenstopsandstarts.Thiscancause
skiddingorjackkning.Smooth,gradualstarts
andstopswillimprovetowing.
Avoidsharpturnstopreventrolling.
Chockthewheelstowhileparkedtoprevent
movement.
Hauling
Usecarewhenloadingorunloadingthemachine
intoatrailerortruck.
Usefull-widthrampsforloadingmachineinto
trailerortruck.
Tiethemachinedownsecurelyusingstraps,
chains,cable,orropes.Bothfrontandrearstraps
shouldbedirecteddownandoutwardfromthe
machine.
