CheckingtheBrakes
ServiceInterval:Beforeeachuseordaily
Beforestartingthesprayer,lightlypressthebrakepedal.
Ifthepedaltravelsmorethan1inch(2.5cm)before
youfeelresistance,adjustthebrakes;refertoAdjusting
theBrakes.
WARNING
Ifyouoperatethesprayerwithpoorlyadjustedor
wornbrakes,youcouldlosecontrolofthesprayer,
resultinginseriousinjuryordeathtoyouor
bystanders.
Alwayscheckthebrakesbeforeoperatingthe
sprayerandkeepthemproperlyadjustedand
repaired.
AdjustingtheBrakes
Checkthebrakeadjustmentdaily.Ifthebrakepedal
travelsmorethan1inch(2.5cm)beforeyoufeel
resistance,adjustthebrakes.
1.Positionthesprayeronalevelsurface,stopthe
pump,stoptheengine,andremovetheignitionkey.
2.Settheparkingbrake.
3.Puttheblocksunderthewheelstopreventthe
machinefromrolling.
4.Releasetheparkingbrake.
5.Loosenthefrontnutsonthebrakecablesunderthe
frontendofthesprayer(

6.Tightentherearnutsequallyuntilthebrakepedal
movesbetween1/2to1inch(1to2cm)beforeyou
feelresistance(Figure54).
Important:Ensurethatyoutightenbothrear
nutsequallysothatthethreadedendsofthe
brakecablesinfrontofthefrontnutsarethe
samelength.
