6. Raise the boom to align the pi v ot with the
actuator rod. W hile holding the boom, inser t
the pin through both boom pi v ot and actuator
rod ( Figure 35 ).
7. With the pin in place , release the boom
and secure the pin with the cotter remo v ed
previously .
8. R e peat the procedure for eac h actuator rod
bearing .
Engine Maintenance
Servicing the Air Cleaner
Chec k the air cleaner body for damag e that could
cause an air leak. Ensure that the dust cap is tightly
sealed onto the air cleaner . R e place a damag ed air
cleaner body . Squeeze the v alv e ( Figure 37 ) before
eac h use to clear it of dust and debris . Ser vice the
air cleaner filter ev er y 100 hours .

Note: Ser vice the air cleaner more frequently if
operating conditions are extremely dusty or sandy .
Cleaning the Filter and Housing
Important: Do not r emo v e the air cleaner
in an attempt to clean it. T his incr eases the
chance of dir t and de bris entering the engine.
1. Set the parking brak e , stop the pump , stop the
engine , and remo v e the ignition k ey .
2. Raise the passeng er seat.
3. Loosen the air cleaner strap that secures the air
cleaner co v er to the air cleaner body ( Figure 37 )
and se parate the co v er from the body .
4. Use lo w pressure compressed air (40 psi, clean
and dr y), to remo v e dir t and debris from the
inside of the air cleaner co v er and around the
air filter .
Important: A v oid high pr essur e
compr essed air which can f orce dir t
thr ough the filter and into the engine.
5. Inspect the filter and re place it if it is damag ed.
6. Install the co v er with the v alv e pointing do wn
at a 5–7 o’cloc k position when view ed from
the end.
7. Secure the straps ( Figure 37 ).
8. R emo v e the r ubber v alv e co v er from the air
cleaner co v er .
9. Clean the v alv e and re place it on the air cleaner
co v er .
Installing a New Filter Element
1. If y ou are installing a new filter , inspect it for
shipping damag e . Chec k the sealing end of the
filter .
Important: Do not install a dama ged
filter .
2. Gently slide the old filter out of the air cleaner
body to reduce the amount of dust dislodg ed.
Note: A v oid knoc king the filter ag ainst the
air cleaner body .
3. Inser t the filter into the air cleaner body .
Ensure that the filter is sealed properly b y
applying pressure to the outer rim of the filter
when installing . Do not press on the flexible
center of the filter .
4. Install the co v er with the v alv e pointing do wn
and secure the straps ( Figure 37 ).
5. Squeeze the element to distribute the oil.
Servicing the Engine Oil
Chang e the engine oil and the oil filter after the
first 50 operating hours and ev er y 150 operating
hours thereafter .
Crankcase Capacity is 4.9 qt (4.63 l) with the filter .
Use high-quality engine oil that meets the follo wing
specifications:
