5.Removethekeyfromtheswitchtopreventaccidental
starting.
NewSprayerBreak-In
Toprovideproperperformanceandlongsprayerlife,follow
theseguidelinesfortherst100operatinghours:
•Checktheuidandengineoillevelsregularlyandbealert
forindicationsofoverheatinginanycomponentofthe
sprayer.
•Afterstartingacoldengine,letitwarmupforabout
15secondsbeforeaccelerating.
•Avoidhardbrakingsituationsfortherstseveralhoursof
newsprayerbreak-inoperation.Newbrakeliningsmay
notbeatoptimumperformanceuntilseveralhoursofuse
hascausedthebrakestobecomeburnished(broken-in).
•Avoidracingtheengine.
•Varythesprayerspeedduringoperation.Avoidfaststarts
andquickstops.
•RefertotheMaintenancesectionforanyspeciallowhour
checks.
AdjustingtheBoomstoLevel
Thefollowingprocedurecanbeusedtoadjustthehardstops
onthecenterboomtokeeptheleftandrightboomsatlevel.
1.Attheoperator'sposition,turntheignitionkeytoOn
toenergizethesystem.
2.Movetheboomsintopositionsothattheyarelevel
withtheground.
3.Removethekeyandexittheoperator'sposition.
4.Atthehinge,adjustthepositionofthebumperssothe
boomcannotmovepastlevelwiththeground.Take
caretomakesurethebumperislevel.
5.Tightentheboltandnuttolockthebumpersintothe
adjustedposition.Torquethefastenersto135-165
ft-lbs(183-223N-m).
Note:Thebumpermayexperiencesomecompressionover
time.Iftheboomsdropbelowlevel,usethisprocedureto
readjustthebumperpositionneeded.
OperatingtheSprayer
TooperatetheMulti-ProSprayerrstllthespraytank,then
applythesolutiontotheworkarea,andnallycleanthetank.
Itisimportantthatyoucompleteallthreeofthesestepsin
successiontoavoiddamagingthesprayer.Forexample,do
notmixandaddchemicalsinthespraytankatnightandthen
sprayinthemorning.Thiswouldleadtoseparationofthe
chemicalsandpossibledamagetothesprayercomponents.
CAUTION
Chemicalsarehazardousandcancausepersonal
injury.
•Readthedirectionsonthechemicallabels
beforehandlingthechemicalsandfollow
allmanufacturerrecommendationsand
precautions.
•Keepchemicalsawayfromyourskin.Should
contactoccur,washtheaffectedareathoroughly
withsoapandcleanwater.
•Weargogglesandanyotherprotective
equipmentrecommendedbythechemical
manufacturer.
TheMulti-ProSprayerhasbeenspecicallydesignedtohave
highdurabilityinordertogiveitthelongsprayerlifeyou
need.Differentmaterialshavebeenchosenforspecic
reasonsatdifferentlocationsonyoursprayertomeetthis
goal.Unfortunatelythereisnosinglematerialwhichis
perfectforallforeseeableapplications.
Somechemicalsaremoreaggressivethanothersandeach
chemicalinteractsdifferentlywithvariousmaterials.Some
consistencies(e.g.wettablepowders,charcoal)aremore
abrasiveandleadtohigherthannormalwearrates.Ifa
chemicalisavailableinaformulationthatwouldprovide
increasedlifetothesprayer,usethisalternativeformulation.
Asalways,remembertocleanyoursprayerthoroughlyafter
allapplications.Thiswilldothemosttoensureyoursprayer
hasalongandtroublefreelife.
FillingtheFreshWaterTank
Alwaysllthefreshwatertankwithcleanwaterbefore
handlingormixinganychemicals.
Thefreshwatertankislocatedatthefront,leftsideofthe
chemicaltank(Figure22).Itsuppliesasourceoffreshwater
foryoutowashchemicalsoffofyourskin,eyes,orother
surfacesinthecaseofaccidentalexposure.
Toopenthefreshwatertankspigot,turntheleveronthe
spigot.
