6. Raise the boom to align the pi v ot with the
actuator rod. W hile holding the boom, inser t
the pin through both boom pi v ot and actuator
rod ( Figure 42 ).
7. With the pin in place , release the boom
and secure the pin with the cotter remo v ed
previously .
8. R e peat the procedure for eac h actuator rod
bearing .

F oam Element: Clean and oil after ev er y 25

hours or yearly , whic hev er occurs first.
Note: Ser vice the air cleaner more frequently
(ev er y few hours) if operating conditions are
extremely dusty or sandy .
Removing the Foam and Paper
Elements
1. Set the parking brak e , stop the pump , stop the
engine , and remo v e the ignition k ey .
2. R elease the latc h on the bac k of the seat and
lift the seat forw ard.
3. Clean around the air cleaner to prev ent dir t
from g etting into the engine and causing
damag e ( Figure 44 ).

4. Loosen the knob on the air cleaner co v er and
remo v e the co v er ( Figure 44 ).
5. Carefully slide the foam element off the paper
element ( Figure 44 ).
6. Unscrew the co v er n ut and remo v e the co v er
and paper element ( Figure 44 ).
Cleaning the Foam Element
1. W ash the foam element in liquid soap and
w ar m w ater .
2. W hen the element is clean, rinse it thoroughly .
3. Dr y the element b y squeezing it in a clean
cloth.
4. Put one or tw o ounces of oil on the element
( Figure 45 ).
Important: R eplace the f oam element
if it is tor n or w or n.

5. Squeeze the element to distribute the oil.
