ServicingtheCuttingBlades
Toensureasuperiorqualityofcut,keepthebladessharp.
Forconvenientsharpeningandreplacement,youmaywant
tokeepextrabladesonhand.
WARNING
Awornordamagedbladecanbreak,andapiece
ofthebladecouldbethrownintotheoperator's
orbystander'sarea,resultinginseriouspersonal
injuryordeath.
Inspectthebladeperiodicallyforwearor
damage.
Replaceawornordamagedblade.
PreparingtoInspectorServicethe
Blades
Parkthemachineonalevelsurface,disengagethe
blade-controlleverandsettheparkingbrake.Turnthe
ignitionkeytotheoffposition.Removethekeyand
disconnectthespark-plugwire(s)fromthesparkplug(s).
InspectingtheBlades
ServiceInterval:Beforeeachuseordaily
1.Inspectthecuttingedges(
Figure63).Iftheedges
arenotsharporhavenicks,removeandsharpenthe
blades.RefertoSharpeningtheBlades.
