AdjustingthePTOSafety
Switch
1.Disengagetheblade-control(PTO)leverand
engagetheparkingbrake.
2.Shutofftheengineandwaitforallmovingparts
tostopbeforeleavingtheoperatingposition.
3.Verifythattheassistarmisagainstthefront
assist-armstop.
4.Ifneeded,adjusttheblade-safetyswitchby
looseningtheboltsholdingtheswitchbracket
(Figure47).
5.Movethemountingbracketuntilthebellcrank
pressestheplungerby6mm(1/4inch);refer
to(Figure47).
Note:Makesurethatthebellcrankdoesnot
touchtheswitchbody;otherwise,damagetothe
switchcouldoccur.
6.Tightentheswitchmountingbracket.

sharp.Forconvenientsharpeningandreplacement,
keepextrabladesonhand.
WARNING
Awornordamagedbladecanbreak,anda
pieceofthebladecouldbethrownatyou
orbystanders,resultinginseriouspersonal
injuryordeath.
•Inspectthebladesperiodicallyforwearor
damage.
•Replaceawornordamagedblade.

1.DisengagethePTOandengagetheparking
brake.
2.Shutofftheengine,removethekey,andwait
forallmovingpartstostopbeforeleavingthe
operatingposition.
3.Disconnectthespark-plugwiresfromthespark
plugs.
