DrainingtheFuelTank
DANGER
Incertainconditions,gasolineisextremely
ammableandhighlyexplosive.Areorexplosion
fromgasolinecanburnyouandothersandcan
damageproperty.
•Draingasolinefromthefueltankwhenthe
engineiscold.Dothisoutdoorsinanopenarea.
Wipeupanygasolinethatspills.
•Neversmokewhendraininggasoline,andstay
awayfromanopenameorwhereasparkmay
ignitethegasolinefumes.
1.Parkthemachineonalevelsurface,toensurethe
fueltankdrainscompletely.Thendisengagethe
powertakeoff(PTO),settheparkingbrake,and
turntheignitionkeytooff.Removethekey.
2.Closethefuelshut-offvalveatthefueltank
(
Figure36).
3.Squeezetheendsofthehoseclamptogether
andslideitupthefuellineawayfromfuellter
(
Figure36).
4.Pullthefuellineoffthefuellter(Figure36).Open
thefuelshut-offvalveandallowthegasolinetodrain
intoagascanordrainpan.
Note:Nowisthebesttimetoinstallanewfuellter
becausethefueltankisempty.RefertoReplacing
theFuelFilter.
5.Installthefuellineontothefuellter.Slidethehose
clampclosetothevalvetosecurethefuelline.

2.Stoptheengine,removethekey,andwaitforall
movingpartstostopbeforeleavingtheoperating
position.
3.Closefuelshut-offvalveatfueltank(Figure36).

isclosesttotheengine.
4.Squeezetheendsofthehoseclampstogetherand
slidethemawayfromthelter(
Figure37).
