5. Roll the PTO drive belt off the center mower deck
pulley (Fig. 0936).
8. Remove the idler arm spring from the spring post
(Fig. 0938).

9. Remove the belt from the clutch (Fig. 0939).6. Raise the machine so that the underside of the
frame can be accessed.
7. Remove the trailing shield from the frame by fi rst
removing the left end of the shield rod (bent at a 45
degree angle) from the hole in the chassis and then
remove the right side of the shield rod (bent at 90
degree angle) from the right side of the chassis (Fig.
0937).
