Squealingwhenthebeltisrotating,bladesslippingwhen
cuttinggrass,frayedbeltedges,burnmarksandcracksare
signsofaworndrivebelt.Replacethedrivebeltifanyof
theseconditionsareevident.
1.DisengagethePTOandsettheparkingbrake.
2.Stoptheengine,removethekey,andwaitforallmoving
partstostopbeforeleavingtheoperatingposition.
3.Unlatchandremovethecarrierframecover.
4.Unlatchandremovethebeltcovers.
5.Removetheheatshieldfromtheenginedeckand
carrierframe.
6.Rollthebeltoffofthecenterpulleyonthemowerdeck
(
Figure51).RefertoFigure52torollthebeltoffleft
pulleyfora36inchmowerdeck.Usecautionwhen
removingthebeltastensionwillincreasebecauseof
thespringloadedidlerpulley.
