DrainingtheFuelTank
DANGER
Incertainconditions,gasolineisextremely
ammableandhighlyexplosive.Areorexplosion
fromgasolinecanburnyouandothersandcan
damageproperty.
Draingasolinefromthefueltankwhenthe
engineiscold.Dothisoutdoorsinanopenarea.
Wipeupanygasolinethatspills.
Neversmokewhendraininggasoline,andstay
awayfromanopenameorwhereasparkmay
ignitethegasolinefumes.
1.Parkthemachineonalevelsurface,toensurethefuel
tankdrainscompletely.Thendisengagethepowertake
off(PTO),settheparkingbrake,turntheignitionkey
totheOffposition,andremovethekey.
2.Closethefuelshut-offvalveatthefueltank(Figure37).
3.Squeezetheendsofthehoseclamptogetherandslide
itupthefuellineawayfromfuellter(Figure37).
4.Pullthefuellineoffthefuellter(Figure37).Open
thefuelshut-offvalveandallowthegasolinetodrain
intoagascanordrainpan.
Note:Nowisthebesttimetoinstallanewfuellter
becausethefueltankisempty.RefertoReplacingthe
FuelFilter.
5.Installthefuellineontothefuellter.Slidethehose
clampclosetothevalvetosecurethefuelline.

partstostopbeforeleavingtheoperatingposition.
3.Closefuelshut-offvalveatfueltank(Figure37).
Note:Removethefuellinefromthefuelvalvethatis
closesttotheengine.
4.Squeezetheendsofthehoseclampstogetherandslide
themawayfromthelter(Figure38).
