ServicingtheCuttingBlades
Toensureasuperiorqualityofcut,keeptheblades
sharp.Forconvenientsharpeningandreplacement,you
maywanttokeepextrabladesonhand.
Awornordamagedbladecanbreak,anda
pieceofthebladecouldbethrownintothe
operator’sorbystander’sarea,resultingin
seriouspersonalinjuryordeath.
Inspectthebladeperiodicallyforwearor
damage.
Replaceawornordamagedblade.
BeforeInspectingorServicingthe
Blades
Parkthemachineonalevelsurface,disengagetheblade
controlbailandsettheparkingbrake.Turntheignition
keytooff.Removethekeyanddisconnectthespark
plugwire(s)fromthesparkplug(s).
InspectingtheBlades
1.Inspectthecuttingedges(Figure45).Iftheedges
arenotsharporhavenicks,removeandsharpenthe
blades.RefertoSharpeningtheBlades.

(Figure45).Ifyounoticeanydamage,wear,or
aslotforminginthisarea(item3inFigure45),
immediatelyinstallanewblade.
CheckingforBentBlades
1.Rotatethebladesuntiltheendsfaceforwardand
backward(Figure46).

BladesandInstallingtheBlades.
Abladethatisbentordamagedcouldbreak
apartandcouldseriouslyinjureorkillyouor
bystanders.
Alwaysreplacebentordamagedbladewith
anewblade.
Neverleorcreatesharpnotchesinthe
edgesorsurfacesofblade.
RemovingtheBlades
Replacethebladesifyouhitasolidobjectorifthe
bladesareoutofbalanceorbent.Toensureoptimum
performanceandcontinuedsafetyconformanceof
themachine,usegenuineTororeplacementblades.
Replacementbladesmadebyothermanufacturersmay
resultinnon-conformancewithsafetystandards.
