Preparation
Thoroughlyinspecttheareawheretheapplianceistobe
usedandremovealldoormats,sleds,boards,wires,and
otherforeignobjects.
Donotoperatetheappliancewithoutwearingadequatewinter
garments.Avoidloosettingclothingthatcangetcaughtin
movingparts.Wearfootwearthatwillimprovefootingon
slipperysurfaces.
Donotattempttoclearsnowfromagravelorcrushedrock
surface.Thisapplianceisintendedforuseonlyonpaved
surfaces.
Neverattempttomakeanyadjustmentswhilethemotor
isrunning(exceptwhenspecicallyrecommendedby
manufacturer).

Operation
Donotputhandsorfeetnearorunderrotatingparts.Keep
clearofthedischargeopeningatalltimes.
Exerciseextremecautionwhenoperatingonorcrossing
graveldrives,walks,orroads.Stayalertforhiddenhazards
ortrafc.
Afterstrikingaforeignobject,stopthemotor,unplugthe
extensioncord,removetheinterlockbutton(key),and
thoroughlyinspecttheapplianceforanydamage.Repairany
damagebeforestartingandoperatingtheappliance.
Iftheapplianceshouldstarttovibrateabnormally,stopthe
motorandcheckimmediatelyforthecause.Vibrationis
generallyawarningoftrouble.
Stopthemotor,removetheinterlockbutton(key),andunplug
theappliancewheneveryouleavetheoperatingposition,
beforeuncloggingtherotorbladehousingordischargechute,
andwhenmakinganyrepairs,adjustments,inspections,and
whiletransportingthemachine.
Donotdirectthesnowdischargeatanybystanders.
Donotoperatewithanyonestandinginfrontofthemachine.
Whencleaning,repairing,orinspectingtheappliance,stop
themotor,removetheinterlockbutton(key),unplugthe

partshavestopped.

snowthrowers.Neveruseyourhandtocleanoutthedischarge
chute.
Toclearthechute:
Shutthemotoroff,removetheinterlockbutton(key),and
unplugtheextensioncordfromthemachine!
Wait10secondstobesuretherotorbladeshavestopped
rotating.
Alwaysuseaclean-outtool,notyourhands.
MaintenanceandStorage
Beforeeachusecheckallfastenersforpropertightnessto
ensurethattheapplianceisinsafeworkingcondition.
