IMPORTANT: Do
not over oil the snowthr
ower;
extra oil may enter the traction drive and cause the
traction drive belt to slip.
6.
Grease the snowthrower as shown in Figure 28.

7. Wipe
up any excess oil or grease.
8.
Install the bottom cover with the four screws.
9.
Return the snowthrower to its upright position.
Replacing
the Spark Plug
Check
the spark plug periodically as given in the
Recommended Maintenance Schedule
on page 16. If the
electrodes in the center of the plug are dark or have
deteriorated, install a new Champion RJ–19LM spark plug
or equivalent.
1.
Clean the area around the spark plug.
2.
Pull the wire of
f of the spark plug (Fig. 29) and
remove the plug from the cylinder head.

a cracked, fouled or dirty
spark plug. Do not sand blast, scrape or clean
electr
odes because grit may r
elease fr
om the plug and
fall into the cylinder and cause engine damage.
3.
Set the air gap between the electrodes of the spark
plug at 0.030 in. (0.76 mm) (Fig. 30).

4. Install
the spark plug in the cylinder head.

orque the plug to 15 ft-lb (20.4 N
m).
6.
Push the wire onto the spark plug (Fig. 29).
