duringoperation,stopthesnowthrower,unplugtheextensioncord,
removetheobstruction,andcheckthesnowthrowerfordamage.
Toadjustthedischargechute,rotatethechutecrankclockwiseto
movethedischargechutetotheleft;counterclockwisetomove
ittotheright.
Note:Thechutecrankmakesanoiseasyouturnthecrank.This
isnormal.
Toadjusttheheightofthesnowstream,raiseorlowerthechute
deectorhandle(Figure9).

Agapbetweenthedischargechuteandthechutedeector
mayallowthesnowthrowertothrowsnowandobjectsin
thedirectionoftheoperator.Thrownobjectscouldcause
seriouspersonalinjury.
Donotforcethechutedeectortoofarforwardsothat
agapappearsbetweenthedischargechuteandchute
deector.
Donotovertightenthelocknutsthatholdthechute
deectorinplace.
Beginremovingsnowneartheelectricaloutletandworkoutward.
Blowbackandforth,notawayfromandtowardtheoutlet.
Whenturningattheendofaswath,stepoverthecordandturn
thesnowthrower.
Alwaysoverlapeachswathanddischargethesnowdownwind
whenpossible.
Toshavedownlargebanksofsnow,liftthesnowthrowerby
theprimaryandsecondaryhandles(Figure10)andplacethe
snowthroweronthebank.Lettheweightofthesnowthrower
shavedownthebankinaback-and-forthmotion.

Whenclearingsteps,holdthesnowthrowerbytheprimaryand
secondaryhandlesanduseaswingingorsweepingmotion.
Whenusingthesecondaryhandle,neverdirectthesnow
dischargechuteattheoperatororbystanders.The
snowthrowercanthrowobjectsandcauseseriouspersonal
injury.
Whenusingthesecondaryhandle,alwaysturnthedischarge
chuteintheoppositedirectionfromwhereyouorbystanders
arestanding.
Keeptheextensioncordclearofobstructions,sharpobjects,and
allmovingparts.Donotpullsharplyoncordorabuseitinany
manner.Frequentlyinspecttheextensioncordfordamagethat
mayresultinanelectricshock.Iftheextensioncordbecomes
damaged,replaceit.
Incoldandsnowyweatherconditions,somecontrolsandmoving
partsmayfreeze.Therefore,whenanycontrolbecomesdifcult
tooperate,stopthemotor,disconnecttheextensioncord,and
checkforfrozenparts.Donotuseexcessiveforcewhentryingto
operatefrozencontrols.Freeallthecontrolsandmovingparts
beforeoperating.
Whenoperatingthesnowthrower,keepthewheels1inch(2.5cm)
offthepavementbytippingthesnowthrowerforward.Thishelps
preventthesnowfrombuildinguponthewheels.
Afterclearingthesnow,letthemotorrunforafewminutesso
thatmovingpartsdon’tfreeze.Thenshutoffthemotor,wait
forallmovingpartstostop,andwipetheiceandsnowoffthe
snowthrower.Rotatethechutecrankseveraltimestoremove
thesnow.
