Operation
Note:Determinetheleftandrightsidesofthe
machinefromthenormaloperatingposition.
CAUTION
Ifyouleavethekeyintheignitionswitch,
someonecouldaccidentlystarttheengine
andseriouslyinjureyouorotherbystanders.
Removethekeyfromtheignitionbeforeyou
doanymaintenance.
AdjustingtheHeightofCut
Theheightofcutisadjustablefrom25to152mm(1
to6inches)in13mm(1/2inch)increments.Toadjust
theheightofcut:
1.Parkthemachineonalevelsurface,raisethe
cuttingunittotheTRANSPORTposition,engage
theparkingbrake,shutofftheengine,and
removethekey.
2.Performthefollowingprocedures:
Positionthecastorwheelaxlesintheupper
orlowerholesofthecastorforks;referto
PositioningtheCastor-WheelAxles(page
11).
Addorremoveanequalnumberofspacers
fromthecastorforks;refertoPositioningthe
Castor-ForkSpacers(page11).
Usethepinsinheight-of-cutplatestoposition
thelift-armchains;refertoPositioningthe
Height-of-CutChain(page12).
PositioningtheCastor-Wheel
Axles
Positionthecastor-wheelaxlesinthesameholesin
bothcastorforks.RefertoFigure8andFigure9to
determinethecorrectholesforthesetting.

Note:Ifyouoperatewitha64mm(2-1/2inch)height
ofcutorhigher,settheaxleboltinthelowerholeto
preventgrassbuildup.Ifyoudetectgrassbuildup
whileoperating,reversethemachinedirectiontopull
anyclippingsawayfromthewheel/forkarea.
PositioningtheCastor-Fork
Spacers
1.Removethetensioningcapfromthespindle
shaft(Figure8)andslidethespindleoutofthe
castorarm.Putthe2shimsontothespindle
shaftastheywereoriginallyinstalled.These
shimsarerequiredtoachievealevelacrossthe
entirewidthofthecuttingunits.
2.Slidetheappropriatenumberofspacersonto
thespindleshafttogetthedesiredheightofcut
(Figure8).
