Swallowingenginecoolantcancausepoisoning;
keepoutofreachfromchildrenandpets.
Dischargeofhot,pressurizedcoolantortouching
ahotradiatorandsurroundingpartscancause
severeburns.
Alwaysallowtheenginetocoolatleast15
minutesbeforeremovingtheradiatorcap.
Usearagwhenopeningtheradiatorcap,and
openthecapslowlytoallowsteamtoescape.
Donotoperatethemachinewithoutthecovers
inplace.
Keepyourngers,handsandclothingclearof
rotatingfananddrivebelt.

50/50solutionofwaterandethyleneglycolbase
extended-lifecoolant.
Important:Useonlycommerciallyavailable
coolantsthatmeetthespecicationslistedinthe

Donotuseconventional(green)inorganic-acid
technology(IAT)coolantinyourmachine.Do
notmixconventionalcoolantwithextended-life
coolant.

radiator(cleanthemmorefrequentlyindirtyor
dustyconditions).
Every1,500hours—Changetheenginecoolant
Whentheengineiscold,thecoolantlevelshould
benohigherthantheCOLDmarkonthesideofthe
expansiontank(Figure72).Whentheengineis
warm,thecoolantlevelshouldbenohigherthanthe
FULL(HOT)mark.
IfthecoolantisabovetheCOLDmarkwhentheengine
iscold,itmayleakoutofthetankwhentheengine
getshotduringoperation.
