TractionPedal
Note:Adjusttheseatpositionbeforeyouoperatethe
machine.RefertotheseatkitInstallationInstructions
forseat-adjustmentinstructions.
Usethetractionpedal(Figure26)tomovethe
machineforwardorrearward.
Movethemachineforward:Useyourtoesto
pressthetopofthepedal.
Movethemachinerearward:Useyourtoesto
pressthebottomofthepedal.
Note:Youcanachievesteadyoperationbykeeping
yourheelontheplatformandpressingthepedalwith
yourtoes.
Groundspeedisproportionatetohowfarthepedal
ispressed.Formaximumgroundspeed,youmust
fullypresstractionpedalwhilethrottleisintheFAST
position.Maximumspeedforwardisasfollows:
ModelNo.31900and31901:21km/h(13mph)
ModelNo.31907and31909:24km/h(15mph)
Togetmaximumpowerunderheavyloadorwhen
ascendingahill,havethethrottleintheFASTposition
whilepressingtractionpedalslightlytokeepthe
enginespeed(rpm)high.Iftheenginespeedbegins
todecreaserapidly,releasethetractionpedalslightly
toallowtheenginespeedtoincrease.

Totiltthesteeringwheeltowardyou,pressthe
tilt-steeringlever(Figure26)downandpullthe
steeringtowertowardyou.Releasetheleverwhen
thesteeringtowerisatapositionthatallowsyouto
comfortablyhandlethesteeringwheel.
ParkingBrake
Wheneveryoushutofftheengine,engagethe
parkingbrake(Figure16)topreventthemachinefrom
accidentallymoving.
Engagetheparkingbrake:Pullthehandleupto
theENGAGEDposition.
