1.Removethetensioningcapfromthe
caster-spindleshaftandslidethespindleoutof
thecasterarm(Figure138).

ServicingtheCaster-Arm
Bushings
Thecasterarmshavebushingspressedintothetop
andbottomofthetube,andaftermanyhoursof
operation,thebushingswear.T ocheckthebushings,
movethecasterforkbackandforthandfromsideto
side.Ifthecasterspindleislooseinsidethebushings,
thebushingsareworn;replacethem.
Removethetensioningcapandcasterfork(Figure
138).
Note:Recordthepositionofthewashersand
spacersbeforeyouremovethemsothatyoudonot
needtoadjustthedeckpitch.
ServicingtheCaster
WheelsandBearings
ServiceInterval:Every500hours—Inspect
thecuttingunitcaster-wheel
assemblies.
1.Removethelocknutfromtheboltholdingthe
caster-wheelassemblybetweenthecasterfork
orthecaster-pivotarm(Figure139).

3.Removethebearingfromthewheelhuband

5.Checkthebearings,spacer,andinsideofthe
wheelhubforwear.
Note:Replaceanydamagedparts.
6.Toassemblethecasterwheel,pushthebearing
intothewheelhub.
Note:Wheninstallingthebearings,presson
theouterraceofthebearing.
7.Slidethebearingspacerintothewheelhuband
pushtheotherbearingintotheopenendofthe
wheelhubtocaptivatethebearingspacerinside
thewheelhub.
8.Installthecaster-wheelassemblybetweenthe
casterforkandsecureitinplacewiththebolt
andlocknut.
